Palm Lane Church of God in Christ is dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and extending the Kingdom of God, in our worship services and in our neighborhood.
We believe worship is a powerful way to connect with God and experience His presence in our lives. Our services are designed to be uplifting, inspiring and centered on the teachings of Christ, and they lead straight back out the door into outreach: meals for our neighbors, Christmas give-aways for children, and a hand extended to anyone who needs one.

Superintendent Lawrence C. Blake, Sr.
Elder Blake accepted the call to ministry long before his ordination in 2006, and was appointed Senior Pastor of Palm Lane in 2023. In January 2025 he became Superintendent of the New Antioch District of the First Jurisdiction of Southern California, under the leadership of Bishop Joe L. Ealy.
He serves his father, Presiding Bishop Emeritus Charles Edward Blake, Sr., as Apostolic Aid, and served for years at West Angeles COGIC, including as Young Adult Pastor from 2014. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Organizational Innovation.
He is married to First Lady Jeanine Blake, and all three of their children serve in the ministry at Palm Lane. Pastor Blake loves to share God’s love by placing Bibles in the hands of people who do not yet know God’s plan of salvation.
From a back porch to Central Avenue.
Palm Lane was founded in the early 1950s by Bishop Harold Conedy as one of many branches of the Holiness church in Los Angeles. Worship began at 119th and Compton Avenue, on the back of Pastor Conedy’s porch, complete with a pulpit, pews for over one hundred people and a choir stand. In 1954 the congregation moved to its current home on Central Avenue.
Through every season, Palm Lane has supported Christian education and families in need, and it remains a place of hope, healing and restoration for people from all walks of life.
